About Us

Women advocacy sparks change, empowers, and builds a more just world.

Who we are

Ing Makababaying Aksyon is a dedicated team of change-makers committed to women’s advocacy, believing that every act of kindness can empower women, amplify their voices, and shape a brighter, more equitable future.

IMA Foundation is a feminist service institution, which is dedicated to women’s empowerment, equality and social justice. It was founded in 1996 and was named after the Kapampangan word, “IMA,” which means “mother.” The foundation was established in response to widespread exploitation, discrimination and the struggles faced by women-from the aftermath of the US Military base pull-out and Mount Pinatubo’s eruption. These events have caused devastation to stereotypes in media and education, lack of health care and economic hardship.

Through the efforts and support of ordinary women and professional women, Ing Makababaying Aksyon played a crucial role in advocating for women’s rights and successfully lobbied for the formation of the Angeles City Center for Women’s Affairs and Concerns (ACCWAC). The foundation continues to uplift women by providing support, resources and initiatives that challenge oppression and foster societal change.

IMA Foundation is officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC Reg. No. ANO96-01407, dated April 18, 1996). Despite early challenges, it has remained committed to strengthening women’s capabilities and ensuring they have the power to shape their own futures.

IMA Foundation has remained steadfast in its mission to empower women, amplify their voices, and create lasting societal change. What began as a response to exploitation, discrimination, and lack of opportunities has grown into a pillar of hope and action for countless women and children in need.
